Previous Employer Problem |

I called my previous employer to request that my 401k be rolled over to an IRA w/ another investment company. I was told that I still showed as an active
employee, even though I left the company back in 2002. Supposedly this is being "researched," but is there anything else I need to do to get this
rolling along and taken care of? Thanks!

Shana: You just need to stay persistent with them. Good chance that they will get it worked out and you will not have any problems. Most companies are
interested in doing the right thing and getting the issue resolved. If in the small likelihood you do have problems with the former employer, you can always
contact the U.S. Department of Labor.
I'd also be asking questions now about, once the problem is fixed, how long it will take them to do the rollover and what paperwork they need from you. |

Thanks for your help. They actually found the problem with their computer system and it should be fixed within 1 day. I will definitely find out how long
it'll take and get the proper paperwork taken care of.
